M-AP was founded by Katell Mallédan and Tanguy Auffret Postel in Lausanne in 2017. The office is active in the broad field of architecture, from urban space to built objects. It develops projects that address the specific needs of the brief while exploring the cultural and material implications of form. The projects aim to offer both meaningful and durable solutions for public and domestic spaces by exploring precise constructive and aesthetic solutions. Research, curation, and social engagement are intertwined in the research process of the office to explore new ways in which architecture can address important issues of our times.

Inauguration of Violette-Taillens Square in Montelly
The City of Lausanne inaugurates the “3 Plateaux” project on the newly named Violette-Taillens Square in Montelly, developed through a participatory process with local residents.
The City of Lausanne is inaugurating the “3 Plateaux” project, designed in collaboration with landscape architect Cécile-Albana Presset and engineering office JMJ ingénieurs. The event also marks the renaming of the square as Violette-Taillens Square, in honour of Violette Taillens (1912–2006), co-founder and president of the Association populaire d’entraide familiale (APEF).
Developed through a participatory process with Graines d’idées, the project reflects the needs and wishes expressed by local residents.
The central plaza is organised around three existing trees. To highlight them and make the most of the shade they provide in summer, three metal rings define new planted areas at their base. These rings also support wide timber elements that form three distinct types of seating, offering a variety of postures and uses: a deck, a fountain bench and a leaning bench.
The central ring incorporates a water point that invites people to drink or play. Its candy-cane shape and vivid colour give the project a strong identity and create a link between the childcare facilities and the surrounding urban flows.

Janus, 160 housing units in the Wolf district in Basel
M—AP, in collaboration with Experience Paris, wins the competition for 160 housing units in the future Wolf district in Basel.
M—AP, in collaboration with Experience Paris, has won the competition for the construction of 160 housing units in the future Wolf district in Basel.
Called Janus, the project draws its strength from the tension between its two long façades. On one side, the building faces the railway landscape of the Basel station tracks. On the other, it opens onto the inner courtyard of the new district.
This duality generates the logic of the plan: the asynchronous rhythms of the rooms to the north and south give the stairwells a progressive offset that connects these interior spaces to the movement of the trains and the city.

The office presented to local residents the redevelopment projects for La Villette square and the Les Isles sports park, developed following participatory workshops with Graines d’idées.
On 8 and 10 October, the office presented to local residents the redevelopment projects for La Villette square and the Les Isles sports park.
These proposals are the result of participatory workshops carried out with Graines d’idées, which made it possible to gather the needs and wishes of residents and users of these two public spaces.
Developed as pilot projects, they are part of the EP5 initiative – a public space within 5 minutes of every resident of Yverdon – and aim to bring sport, culture and biodiversity into local public spaces.

M–AP architectes est fondé par Katell Mallédan et Tanguy Auffret Postel à Lausanne en 2017. Le bureau est actif dans le domaine de l'architecture, de l'espace urbain aux objets construits.
